This is the lathe and stand as bought. It came from an estate sale with a little tooling. I must say, it is a sweet to use machine. Much easier than my monster Monarch! I don't know what you might be looking for, so a lot of the photos may seem redundant. This lathe didn't come with a manual, and I wasn't able to find one on the Internet. I called Enco and they sent me a photo copy. I scanned it to PDF. It turns out it is a re-branded CT-918A. CT-918 Manual.
As you can see below, the spring is missing from the belt
tensioner. I was able to order this from Grizzly. Their G4000 is almost
identical. http://www.grizzly.com/products/9-x-19-Bench-Lathe/G4000 Pretty small footprint.
These are the gears I got with
it. They look unused. Unfortunately, after studying the threading
charts, I am missing a couple. It's a good thing I am planning on
making this CNC!
Those keyless chucks are sweet!
As received, this was wired for 220 VAC. Since I didn't know exactly where it was going to live, yet, I decided to make it 110. These photos show it wired for 220. It was. I really need to remove those wheels. Lathes are top heavy and I sure don't want it to turn over. The stand is kind of short, though. Now, how to mount those steppers... |
